im 20 stone  would this   still be  around at a  good speed and  can you get  another battery  to make it go longer

flitsies says:

This is only legal in the UK if it does not exceed 40 kilos and the pedals actually work and has a max speed on the motor of 15 mph.

If it does not meet this criterion then it will have to be registered as a motorcycle.

The USA has some of the best laws regarding electric cycles and electric scooters, 20 mph 750 watts motor max.

In the UK the law says any scooter that does not conform to electric bicycle standards must be registered as a motorcycle.

So basically if you have an electric scooter with a 100 watts motor fitted to it that can take you up to 8 mph it must be registered as a motorcycle in order to use it on a road.

Noah Buckley says:

£1595 do you really fucking think a 14 year old could buy 1 WTF

Michael Toyer says:

Nick, I sent you a query via your website but haven’t received a reply. Is there a problem with the query bit of your website?

jacob edward says:

Hi just wounding what kind of gradient can your iped lite climb

eraldorh says:

15mph??? that’s embarrassing and a danger on the road. Can it be de-restricted? what would be the max speed if it can be de-restricted?

Nick Bull says:

Hi Nomad722. No that’s not correct at all! Please refer to this link;

https://www.gov.uk/electric-bike-rules

All our electric scooters conform to the above and are 100% road legal. Furthermore we and many of our 100s of customers have had these bikes inspected by the police and other legal bodies and all of them have confirmed their legality.

Michael Lamb says:

Do you have the details of the new company?

James Saunders says:

Were do you buy an Iped?

Eddie Freeston says:

Spoken to the owner of the company. Lovely and honest person, not there to pressure you into a sale what so ever. I am going to purchase one of these as I have lost my driving licence. Great video also.

www.ePed.co.uk says:

It’s not just us who think this is the best pedal assisted electric scooter in the UK….

Just thought I’d let you know how l’m getting on with my Iped. Wow!!!
It’s fantastic. I use it to get to work every day and shopping trips, I never need to pedal and the acceleration is really good. I’ve had lots of compliments and questions, one of the best being “where’s the engine? ” I trawled the Internet for an electric bike and I’ve definitely got the best with the Iped.
I wish you all the best with your business.
                 Many thanks,
                                        Andrew Burton

Lucan Barratt says:

I have the I-ped S , same rear as this, it is by far the best low speed ev by far readily available, pulls like a train up hill with a pillion. Uncoil the blue wire you fly up hill at 17 mph, and top is 25… Awesome ped….. Mine looks like the ktm, this is a little older, but the same drive train……. I can’t stress to ppl how much better than the rest this is… I’ve had many many of them, and modified lots, this drive sets the bar for street legal low speed ev’s

Josh Dellow says:

I’m 6 ft 1 and way nearly 19 stone would the bike be fine with me on it as I would love to get one of these

Woodomain - Jeremy Broun says:

Impressive though it is, in a congested city it would be dangerous in not keeping up with other traffic by a long chalk. I ride a 50cc two stroke that needs to do 30mph to keep out of danger. With increasingly frustrated motorists on British roads you would simply get carved up and not be able to manoeuvre outnof trouble . Otherwise a great bike!

June Clark says:

you state that they are road legal in the UK and EU, but is this wrong? twist and go throttles in EU are banned, unless the moped is licensed and insured its not road legal. Could you clarify please, ie does it conform to EN15194.

Don Smithies says:

Unlike anything else available? This is for little old ladies. Why dont you have a look at The Core or ATX 8080? Why go for mediocre if you are developing something new?

H F says:

didn’t even ride it. what’s the point.

Macrocosmus Seid says:

Outstanding. Very good prices & quality

Bat Mann says:

I wouldn’t risk riding one of these from the age of 14, when you’re 16 or over, then you probably won’t risk breaking the law.

Alex Gamble says:

So you can ride this when you are 14 years old with no licence? And can you ride double?

Alex Parkes says:

gow much are these and where can i get one from

Zerobladetion Wot says:

In the USA we can have 20 mph in California Motor Watt is 750. hahahaha

gamingkid says:

can you remove the pedals

Brockly says:

Hi i’m 14 years old i live in bradford that has quite alot of hills and i do not have alot of money how could i get this scooter for cheap and would this scooter be good on hills?

Nick Bull says:

It also has absolutely nothing to do with which vehicles are exempt from tax!

jtpf87 says:

Wow £1595, thats so overpriced, these things are built in China, this same model will set you back around £200 here if you bargain with the seller. The battery would not be lithion it would be lead acid but still, everything else is exactly the same, it would also have no pedals, thicker tyres and be capable of speeds up to 25mph. £250 would get you a 60vault version, that can reach speeds of 35mph. You can buy parts here fitted for next to nothing, those mirrors cost £2 on my bike. The bodywork can be replaced for an alternative colour for £20. New batterys once a year cost £50. These things wont take off until the price comes down a lot more, Im amazed at the price difference. I currently ride a Chinese built 125cc scooter, it cost me £200 brand new! This E-Bike is a total rip off!

Mainframe says:

The company probably went bust. The link doesn’t work and cannot find any eped bike currently on sale. Oh well, moving on.

wolves merlin says:

where are you based in the uk. nick bull  i’m interested In your iPed’s but if you still operating or have you gone bust.

Nicola Price says:

What are the new regulations. And am I able to still ride an eped on uk roads ? I heard it changed in January 2016.

Clint Sanders says:

35 degrees celcius?! Either that thermometer is broken or this is not recorded in England lol

James Andrew says:

Since this is legal and a 4 wheel tandem is also legal, would a electric quad be road legal if it had pedals?
