I’m only 5.5” and love my Downtown 300I I ride at 80mph all the time EASY, I’ve done 90mph and the pickup is great. It is a lite bike so it concerns me with wind.
I’ve wanted this scooter for a long time and have been waiting for those idiots at the company to figure out why people hate riding this scooter. The problem is not the seat. The problem is the foot position. They need to extend the forward position of the foot rest to resemble the other scooters on the market like the Burgman 400. Kymco is a good company and I’ve talked to one of their dealers who actually when to Taiwan to try to tell them that this scooter could be a top seller in the US if they just repositioned the forward foot rest. —The dealer gave up after trying his best. Seems like the very short people in Taiwan like sticking their feet up in the air and Kymco can’t understand why the people in the US don’t like it too. Just a culture gap that an international company should be able to overcome.
I put over 8,000 miles on a 2012 Downtown 300i, and I must say it is a very nice bike. Quick, nimble, good looking. The built in amenities make it one of the best in it’s class. However, the seating position is a bit cramped. I’m also 5’10” and I had to flare my feet out just a bit to make the leg-room comfortable, resulting in the same butt-ache he referenced. But once I purchased an “Air Hawk” seat cushion, the problem disappeared (thus the 8,000 miles). I’d do recommend the 300i to anyone under 5’9 or with less than a 30-inch inseam. Despite the ergonomics, it’s a great running scooter.
Good review and a very nice scooter indeed. If the seats are your only problem, there are aftermarket seats that don’t have that back rest.

Thanks for that. I nearly bought one just on the looks and spec alone. I’ll stick with my Honda 110cc Lead which is a joy to ride.
is it a scoter or a bike i don’t understand
