Piaggio Vespa Scooter Complete Review | Vespa SXL and VXL Complete Specification

The Vespa VXL series can be classified with its round headlight design, making it a true antique yet appealing beauty. It gets most of its parts dipped in chrome and even gets 5-spoke alloy wheels for an enhanced visual desire. The well curved body has been perfectly made with the timeless design and impressive finish. The design of the seat and the rear grab rails are inspired from the decade old Vespa tradition.

The new Vespa VXL gets a stylish new instrument console with digital odometer and trip meter. It also gets a digital clock and fuel indicator in a screen below the analogue speedometer. The attractive design of the instrument console does not alter the clear viewing pleasure of the same.

The VXL series comes in two engine options, VXL 125 and VXL 150. The 125 cc Vespa comes with a peak of 9.9 BHP @ 7,500 rpm and 10.6 NM @ 6,000 rpm whereas the 150 cc engine produces 11.4 BHP @ 7,000 rpm and 11.5 NM @ 5,500 rpm. Both the engines are mated to CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission). Vespa is a good option when balancing between performance and style as it gets a 3-valve engine.

The new Vespa comes with broad tyres, 200 mm disc brake for the front wheel and a 5-spoke alloy wheels for design as well as safety enhancement. The VXL 125 comes with a price tag of INR 77,308 whereas the VXL 150 gets a bigger INR 84,641 tag.

The engines powering the SXL series are again the 125 cc and 150 cc motor, producing 9.9 BHP and 11.4 BHP respectively. The torque values stays 10.6 NM for the 125 cc and 11.5 NM for 150 cc Vespa. Both the scooters are mated to Continuous Variable Transmission. The engine comes in 3-valves and has an aluminum cylinder head.

The scooters come with a great aircraft derived single sidearm front suspension with anti-dive characteristics for the front wheel whereas the rear suspension is a dual-effect hydraulic shock absorber. The front wheel gets a 200 mm disc brake whereas the rear gets a 140 mm drum brakes. The use of 110/70-11 and 120/70-10 tyres makes the Vespa more stable and provides excellent grip to the rider. The scooters have been priced at INR 81,967 for the SXL 125 and INR 88,696 for the SXL 150.
